Is There a Season 2 for We Were Liars? Here’s What We Know

Fans of We Were Liars are buzzing after the gripping finale of Prime Video’s adaptation of E. Lockhart’s bestselling novel. But the big question remains: will there be a season 2?

As of now, We Were Liars has not been officially renewed for a second season. The first season, which premiered on June 18, 2025, covers the entirety of the original novel’s plot. Since the book is a standalone, any continuation would require original storytelling or a shift in focus.

However, there’s hope. The show’s creators have hinted at the possibility of a second season based on Lockhart’s prequel novel, Family of Liars, which explores the Sinclair family’s past. Given the show’s strong debut and fan interest, Prime Video may greenlight a follow-up once viewership data is fully assessed.

Until then, all eight episodes of We Were Liars are available to stream on Prime Video. Whether we return to Beachwood Island depends on the show’s performance—and a bit of Sinclair family magic.
