A Cheesy Gem of it’s time that’s still GREAT
A wonderful piece of cheese from the 80s, the Clue movie will satisfy your need for a hammy mystery. This DVD includes the option of having a random ending play on a single viewing or having all 3 endings play in order on a single viewing – meaning if you want a reason to watch this movie again with friends, family or at a party you have options.On the subject of family: this movie is pretty good for most ages. It’s family friendly enough so that you won’t shoo the kids out of the room and just “scandalous” and “spicy” enough to make the younger kids ages 7-10 feel like they’re watching a ‘grown up’ movie. I showed these to some younger relatives of mine (11 and 10) and they liked it a lot even if had to explain a few plot elements to them (like Mr. Green being blackmailed for being homosexual while having a government job). There are some parts that may make a parent or guardian a little cautious about letting their child watch the movie but those moments go by pretty fast so family movie night shouldn’t be to awkward. For kids I imagine the fun from this movie also comes from guessing who killed Mr. Body and seeing if they’re right in one of the 3 endings.Was this a movie anybody particularly wanted back in the day? I don’t know – I wasn’t born back then and board game to movie adaptations are more of a thing NOW than they were back in the 80s and nobody seems to want them now. But this movie is a delightful chunk of cheese with a mix of mystery, comedy and suspense that’s suitable for just about everyone.

I’ve always loved this movie. Perfect cast, the plot is excellent and the movie flows and is never boring.
