Unique animated story
We thoroughly enjoyed watching this evolving story of a kitten as she encounters challenges in a unique world. We didn’t know anything about it when we started watching and I won’t give any spoilers. Suitable for all ages.

Beautiful and captivating.
Love this movie. There is no dialogue so I wasn’t sure how people would respond. I’ve shared it will family and friends, some do not speak English as their first language, all of them seemed to enjoy the movie. The art is captivating, the plot simple, and the overall storytelling is well done. I highly recommend this movie!

Colorful, riveting, world-wide accessibility, great lessons, unique in its concept
The characters are not Pixar- or Disney-level animation – more like anime-plus – but the background animations and effects, breadth of colors and shading, and riveting / edge-of-your-seat / lessons-on-how-to-get-along story line make up for it. All dialogue is animal sounds, not human-speak, and this is extremely effective and should allow film-goers in any country to understand and enjoy it. This film is a keeper and worth every penny. I actually like it better than the other 2025 Best Animated Film candidates out there. One more thing: If you want a fully satisfying conclusion to your experience watching this, you MUST watch past the credits to the ending scene. (Prime tends to kick the video out when the credits first start. Return to the film and advance it back to the credits, then watch the ending scene that follows.)

Great movie for the whole family!
Surprisingly entertaining for the whole family. Visually stunning and a great visual story telling. I was really impressed that the whole family actually sat through and enjoyed this whole movie with zero dialogue.

The Music and the Moving tale
Amazing story. I think if you have lived with cats, dogs or both, you can understand their language here; and if you can imagine the rest, it’s just wonderful ! Great moving music, and really touches your heart.

Believe in WONDER
Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis’s bold vision leaves viewers in awe—a quiet marvel born not from Hollywood, but from a single artist’s imagination and the use of open-source software.Wordless and hypnotic, the 84-minute odyssey follows a wiry cat navigating a hauntingly beautiful, post-apocalyptic flood. As it drifts on a boat with a misfit crew—a Labrador, lemur, capybara, and a solitary secretary bird—the film evokes a quiet, haunting sense of wonder through the animals’ raw, instinctive behavior.

We had no idea what to expect with this movie, but our daughter really wanted to watch it. The animation was great, the story took you on an adventure, with an ending you will remember.

Highly motivated film, strikes the right balance
This is an incredible animated film. I was first struck by little details in the very grounded cinematography. The landscapes are arrestingly gorgeous. The director sets up little questions and pays them off to drive the plot forward, while leaving big questions about the world the viewer explores delightfully mysterious. There is no spoken dialogue in the film but emotions are communicated effectively through gesture, environment, and the score. The story is deeply personal and incredibly emotional; I was gripped from beginning to end.My only criticisms are with the balance between the animals behaving naturalistically (it is obvious that the animators studied each animal’s natural behavior rigorously), the plot just happening by luck and circumstance, and the animals taking on human characteristics to motivate the plot. It is clear that this balance was considered acutely by the director, but the shift between these factors can be jarring while watching. That said, every shift is necessary for the story told. Similarly, the painterly rendering of the characters can clash with the photo-real environments. This as well appears to be intentional, due to the technical limitations of simulating water and other environmental elements. Regardless, I would forgive much worse sins in a film this brilliant and affecting.

A purr-fect and hearfelt adventure
Flow tells the story of an epic adventure with humor, suspense, and heart. My family loved it from start to finish! The animation and art are beautifully expressive, with countless details that breathe life into the world. The lack of dialogue allows the visuals, sound, and music to tell the story. I loved learning the filmmakers recorded authentic animal sounds—though it’s hilarious that a baby camel voiced Capybara because they felt it suited the character’s personality better. We follow the story of a solitary cat forced to face a tidal wave of change—both literally and figuratively. Cat reluctantly learns to trust and collaborate with a group of very different animals, all while discovering their own inner strength. Each animal has such a well-crafted and unique personality, adding so much depth to what could have been just another simple animated animal movie.Flow is an emotional, thought-provoking journey about bravery, connection, and the ebb and flow of existence. It’s won numerous well-deserved awards, including Best Animated Picture at the Golden Globes, a testament to what a small, passionate team can achieve. As for the appropriate age range, there are a few moments of danger that young children could find overwhelming, older kids (my 10yr old loved it) and adults alike will appreciate its depth and complexity. (If you need spoilers to know if it’s safe for you I’d suggest the sites: Common Sense Media (for kids) or Does the Dog Die (for triggers).
