Fans of the 2019 alligator thriller Crawl have been eagerly awaiting news of a sequel, and the wait is finally over! Crawl 2 is officially in development, with director Alexandre Aja returning to helm the project.

What to Expect from Crawl 2

Unlike the first film, which was set in Florida during a hurricane, Crawl 2 will take place in New York City and feature an entirely new cast. The script is being written by Andrew Deutschman and Jason Pagan, known for their work on Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and Project Almanac.

When Will Crawl 2 Be Released?

While an official release date has not been announced, filming is expected to begin in fall 2024 in Europe. Given the production timeline, fans can likely expect the movie to hit theaters in late 2025 or early 2026.

Why Has It Taken So Long?

Director Alexandre Aja revealed that the delay was not due to Hollywood politics or industry strikes but rather his own hesitation to return to filming in water-heavy conditions. However, he’s now ready to dive back in and bring another thrilling survival story to the big screen.

Stay tuned for more updates on Crawl 2! If you loved the first film, this sequel promises to deliver even more intense action and suspense.
