This concert was filmed on May 7, 2016 in Prague during Hans Zimmer’s hugely successful European tour. Hans was accompanied by a band, orchestra and choir (72 musicians in total), including guitarist Johnny Marr of The Smiths. The staging was spectacular, with a groundbreaking light show, stunning visuals and a state-of-the-art sound system. Hans Zimmer performs on multiple instruments and gives introductory insights to many of the pieces during the concert. This show is a treat for lovers of both great music and great movies. Best version ever!

The second best ATMOS blu-ray next to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon remaster

One of the best concert 4K titles

The show is great. The audio and video quality is also wonderful, so I can say this is a must-have one. I really loved watching it.

The Cover Says Atmos with UHD Video, But It’s NOT Atmos + NO Menus

Not Atmos, Poor Engineering ConversionGood performances with good dynamic range on this disc. 4k video looks good.No top or pop-up menus accessible on my XBox One S.The sound is not ATMOS. My Yamaha AVR in a 7.1.4 system recognizes it as Dolby Digital. I’m getting some ambient sound field information from my 4 height speakers. But, the surround, rear surround, and center channel speakers are absolutely dead silent.

Disc is a scam or broken mastering!

I don’t know if this was a scam or simply terrible mastering? But I have one of the more popular common Panasonic 4K Blu-ray players and when I put this disc in, I get a brief opening title and then the song from gladiator starts playing, but it doesn’t even finish it kind of fades out and then the entire thing starts over again. It almost seems like this is supposed to be the video for the menus. However, there are no menus and none of the options on my remote works except for stop. I can’t pause. I can’t get a pop-up menu, a top menu, information, nothing. I can’t change audio format. I can only stop the disc from playing that is it. so for my money I have part of one song from gladiator playing back in two channel 48 kHz PCM on a loop

    Amazing Concert – Amazing Soundtrack

I had heard the Hans Zimmer Live in Prague Blu-Ray disc being used to demonstrate various home theater systems in the past, but I was thrilled that a new 4K Blu-Ray was available, now with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. When I got it, I tried it on my home theater system, and what can I say? I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!First, I did detect that the default is to use the Stereo track, not the Atmos 7.1 track, probably to ensure compatibility to all sound systems. Once I went into the setup from the main menu, and selected the Dolby Atmos 7.1 track, and hit the play button, I was transported to that concert. The music completely surrounded me, even though I only have a 5.1 home theater. I truly felt as if I were sitting either in the front row or even, at times, on the stage itself.I should also mention, if you are a Hans Zimmer fan, such as myself, this is a must-have disc. You will enjoy listening to the music over and over and over again. The other musicians were fantastic, lively, and were totally enjoying themselves as they played along with Hans. The only downside is that the disc does not come in a normal Blu-Ray clamshell case. Instead, it comes in a cardboard sleeve. I am a bit worried that the disc may get scratched after it is pulled out and slid back in multiple times.I would 100% recommend this 4K Blu-Ray disc. It is enjoyable, and will test out anyone’s home theater setup with the proper equipment (ensure the processor/receiver/4K-player can handle the Dolby Atmos encoding).
