Jeon Do-yeon (born February 11, 1973) is a highly celebrated South Korean actress recognized globally as a "chameleon" for her extraordinary versatility and ability to fearlessly tackle complex, emotionally demanding roles. After starting her career in television in the early 1990s and making a successful transition to film with The Contact (1997), she quickly established a reputation for choosing challenging projects. Her most significant career achievement came in 2007 when she won the Best Actress Award at the 60th Cannes Film Festival for her stunning performance in Lee Chang-dong's film, Secret Sunshine, making her the first Korean actress ever to win an acting prize at the prestigious festival.
