Adam El Sharkawy
Adam El Sharkawy is an American-Egyptian actor who has gained recognition in both Hollywood and the Egyptian entertainment industry. Born in Egypt in 1994, he moved to the United States with his parents at a young age, settling in California. His birth name was Mahmoud Khaled El Sharkawy, but he adopted the name Adam when he enrolled in acting school at the age of ten, later occasionally using the shorter professional name "Adam Elshar." He has a strong background in education, having excelled academically and earned an MFA in acting from California State University-Fullerton. Adam began his serious acting career in 2018 with independent projects in the US, including a role in the movie Low Low and an appearance in the series NCIS: Los Angeles. He achieved significant fame and broke into Egyptian mainstream television with his breakthrough role as Ziad, or "Big Z," in the critically acclaimed Egyptian Ramadan series Le'bet Newton (Newton's Cradle) in 2021, acting opposite superstar Mona Zaki. Since then, he has focused on major roles in Egyptian productions, including the series Munaataf Khatar (2022) and the comedy series 1000 Hamdela Ala El Salama (2023) alongside Yousra. He also starred in the 2023 movie Khamas Gawalat, marking his first leading role in an Egyptian film.
