Aditya Chopra is a highly influential Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, and studio executive. Born on May 21, 1971, he is the eldest son of the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra and a scion of the prominent Mukherjee-Samarth family of Bollywood. He began his career in the film industry at a young age, assisting his father on iconic films like Chandni, Lamhe, and Darr.At just 23, he made a historic directorial debut with the blockbuster romantic comedy Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), which he also wrote. The film became one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema history, running for over 25 years in a single Mumbai theater and establishing a new benchmark for romantic films. His other directorial credits include the highly successful Mohabbatein (2000), Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), and Befikre (2016).Following his father's passing in 2012, Aditya Chopra took over as the Chairman and Managing Director of Yash Raj Films (YRF), the production and distribution company founded by his father in 1970.
