Adrian Politowski
Adrian Politowski is a BAFTA-nominated Swedish film producer, fund manager, and entrepreneur. Born Adrian Murshid in Stockholm in October 1978, he is of Polish and Bangladeshi descent. He holds two Master's degrees from Oxford University, one in Engineering and a second in Economics. Politowski's career has a strong focus on the intersection of media and finance. In 2004, he co-founded the Motion Investment Group in Brussels, which was later rebranded as Umedia in 2010. During his time as CEO, Umedia grew into a major international production group, financing over 400 films. He left Umedia in 2019 and co-founded Align, a production and financing group where he currently serves as Executive Chairman. Through these companies, he has produced and financed a diverse portfolio of acclaimed films and television series, including the five-time Academy Award winner The Artist (2011), Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022), and the HBO series My Brilliant Friend. He has also been involved in a number of other projects, such as Rabbit Trap (2025), The Brutalist (2024), and The Thing With Feathers (2025). In addition to his work in film, Politowski is on the Board of Directors of the gaming and VFX company Goodbye Kansas and is a member of the advisory board for Women in Film and TV International (WIFTI). He is known for raising and deploying over €650 million in media financing and for his involvement in projects that have earned over 140 awards and 370 nominations.
