Aisling Franciosi is an Irish-Italian actress born in Dublin, Ireland, on June 6, 1993. Raised in both Ireland and Italy, she is a native bilingual speaker of English and Italian. She began her career in television, gaining recognition for her role as Katie Benedetto in the RTÉ-BBC Two crime drama The Fall (2013-2016), a performance that earned her an Irish Film & Television Award. She also had a recurring role as a young Lyanna Stark in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones. Franciosi’s breakthrough film role came in the 2018 historical drama The Nightingale, for which her powerful and transformative performance as a young Irish convict earned her widespread critical acclaim and an AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
