Alaina Huffman, born Alaina Kalanj on April 17, 1980, is a Canadian actress known for her work in television and independent film. A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, she began her career at a young age when a modeling scout discovered her, leading to a successful career in high fashion across Europe and Japan. After leaving modeling to attend college in the United States, she pursued her passion for acting, landing roles in a series of independent films.Huffman is perhaps best known to television audiences for her roles in popular sci-fi and fantasy series. She played Dinah Lance/Black Canary in Smallville, the character Maureen Bowers in Painkiller Jane, and was a series regular as 1st Lt. Tamara Johansen in Stargate Universe. She also had a notable recurring role as the demon Abaddon in the popular show Supernatural. Her television work also includes guest or recurring roles in shows such as The O.C., NCIS, and The 100. In addition to her extensive TV career, Huffman has appeared in films such as The Perfection and the 2025 biopic Waltzing with Brando.
