Alberto Gracia (born 1978 in Ferrol, Galicia, Spain) is a Spanish filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist known for his experimental approach to cinema. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Vigo and began his artistic career in sculpture, drawing, and painting before transitioning to video and film in the late 2000s . Gracia's filmmaking is characterized by a blend of fiction and documentary, often challenging traditional narrative structures. His debut feature, O quinto evanxeo de Gaspar Hauser (The Fifth Gospel of Kaspar Hauser, 2013), received the FIPRESCI Prize at the International Film Festival Rotterdam . His subsequent film, La estrella errante (The Wandering Star, 2018), won the New Waves Award for Best Spanish Film at the Seville European Film Festival . In 2024, Gracia premiered his third feature, La Parra, at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where it was selected for the Tiger Competition.
