Alden Ehrenreich (born November 22, 1989, in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor known for his versatile performances across film and television. He began his acting career in elementary school and later studied at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. In 2009, he co-founded "The Collectin," a collaborative theater and film group, with Zoë Worth . Ehrenreich's breakthrough came in 2009 when filmmaker Steven Spielberg discovered him after watching a short film he made for a friend's bat mitzvah. This led to his first feature film role in Francis Ford Coppola's Tetro (2009). He continued to gain recognition with roles in Blue Jasmine (2013), Stoker (2013), and Beautiful Creatures (2013). In 2016, he starred in the Coen brothers' Hail, Caesar!, which significantly raised his profile . Ehrenreich's most prominent role to date is portraying a young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018). Following this, he starred in the dystopian television series Brave New World (2020) and appeared in films such as Fair Play (2023), Cocaine Bear (2023), and Oppenheimer (2023) .
