Aleksey Maklakov

Aleksey Maklakov, born on January 6, 1961, is a well-known Russian actor of both stage and screen. Originally from Novosibirsk, he graduated from the Novosibirsk State Theater School and began his career in theater, working at the Novosibirsk Red Torch Theater and later joining the Vl. Mayakovsky Theater troupe in Moscow. While he had a long and successful career on the stage, he gained widespread national popularity through his film and television work. He is perhaps most recognized for his role as Captain Anatoly Shmatko in the popular Russian television series Soldiers.Beyond his television fame, Maklakov has appeared in numerous films. He is known for his role as the magician Semyon in the supernatural thrillers Night Watch (2004) and Day Watch (2006), which were highly successful in Russia. In the Major Grom franchise, he plays Fyodor Prokopenko, the head of the police department and a mentor figure to the protagonist, Igor Grom, a role he reprised in both Major Grom: Plague Doctor (2021) and Major Grom: The Game (2024). In 2007, he was honored with the title of Merited Artist of the Russian Federation for his contributions to the arts.
