Alison Oliver

Alison Oliver (born June 3, 1997) is a fast-rising Irish actress known for her raw, emotionally complex performances across television, film, and the London stage. Born in Cork and raised in Blackrock, she graduated from The Lir Academy at Trinity College Dublin in 2020. Her career began with a massive breakthrough just one day after graduation, when she was cast as the lead, Frances Flynn, in the BBC/Hulu adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Conversations with Friends (2022). She quickly followed this with a critically acclaimed film debut in Emerald Fennell’s psychological thriller Saltburn (2023), playing the "waifish" and vulnerable Venetia Catton—a role that earned her an IFTA (Irish Film & Television Award) for Best Supporting Actress. Oliver is also a staple of the London theater scene, having starred in major productions like Dancing at Lughnasa at the National Theatre and Portia Coughlan at the Almeida. In the 2026 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, Oliver reunites with director Emerald Fennell and her Saltburn co-star Jacob Elordi. She portrays Isabella Linton, the younger sister of Edgar Linton, who becomes infatuated with Heathcliff only to be trapped in a cycle of his vengeful cruelty. Her casting is part of Fennell’s "modern and punky" reimagining of the classic, with early trailers depicting a more visceral and "shackled" version of the character's descent into ruin. Beyond the moors, 2026 is a significant year for Oliver; she is also slated to appear in the crime drama series Task (alongside Mark Ruffalo) and the film The Order. Off-screen, she is based in London and is currently in a high-profile relationship with fellow actor Josh O'Connor.
