Allison Tolman
Allison Tolman is a critically acclaimed American actress who became a household name following her breakout performance as Deputy Molly Solverson in the first season of the FX anthology series Fargo (2014). Her portrayal of the sharp, empathetic investigator earned her a Critics' Choice Television Award and nominations for both a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe. Born on November 18, 1981, in Houston, Texas, Tolman spent her early childhood in England before returning to Texas, where she eventually earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Baylor University. Before her television success, she was a fixture of the Dallas theater scene and a founding member of the Second Thought Theatre, later honing her comedic skills at The Second City in Chicago. In the 2015 film Krampus, Tolman played Linda Jackson, the sister of Sarah (Toni Collette). Her character serves as a vital emotional bridge in the story, portraying a mother trying to protect her children while navigating the strained, often humorous tension between the two families. Following Krampus, Tolman has maintained a prolific career in both television and film, starring in the ABC series Downward Dog and Emergence, as well as playing the lead role of Alma Fillcot in the second season of Why Women Kill (2021). As of 2024 and 2025, she has returned to the workplace comedy genre as a lead in the NBC series St. Denis Medical, playing Alex, a dedicated nurse in an underfunded Oregon hospital.
