Álvaro Rico Ladera (born August 13, 1996) is a Spanish actor who has achieved international recognition for his work in television and film. Hailing from La Puebla de Montalbán, Spain, he began his acting career in a theater adaptation of La Celestina in 2011. His television debut came in 2017 with an episode of Medical Center and a role in Velvet Colección.Rico's breakout role, however, was as Leopoldo "Polo" Benavent Villada in the hit Netflix teen drama series Elite, which he starred in from 2018 to 2020. His portrayal of Polo, a central character in the show's complex mystery and drama, earned him widespread acclaim and a global fan base.Since leaving Elite, Rico has continued to build a strong and varied career.
