Amir El-Masry
Amir El-Masry is an Egyptian-British actor. He was born on August 2, 1990, to an Egyptian family and was raised in West London. After an early debut in Egyptian cinema at the age of 18, he went on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).El-Masry has built a successful career spanning both the Arab and international film and television industries. He gained widespread critical acclaim for his lead role as a Syrian refugee in the 2020 film Limbo, for which he won a Scottish BAFTA for Best Actor. He was also named a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit in 2020 and a Screen International Star of Tomorrow in 2021.His diverse body of work includes notable roles such as a young Mohamed Al-Fayed in the fifth season of the hit Netflix series The Crown, and appearances in major productions like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, A Haunting in Venice, and Jack Ryan. He has also been cast in the upcoming biopic Giant, where he will portray British-Yemeni boxer Prince Naseem Hamed.
