Ana de Armas is a Cuban-Spanish actress celebrated for her compelling performances across both Spanish-language and English-language films. Born Ana Celia de Armas Caso on April 30, 1988, in Havana, Cuba, she began her acting career at 16 with the Cuban film Una rosa de Francia (2006) and later gained recognition in Spain through the popular series El Internado (2007–2010). At 18, she moved to Madrid to pursue acting, and by 2014, she had relocated to Los Angeles to further her career in Hollywood. De Armas' breakthrough in Hollywood came with her role as Joi, a holographic AI, in Blade Runner 2049 (2017). She further solidified her status with performances in Knives Out (2019), earning a Golden Globe nomination, and as Paloma in No Time to Die (2021).
