Ana de la Reguera (born Anabell Gardoqui de la Reguera on April 8, 1977, in Veracruz, Mexico) is a distinguished Mexican actress known for her work in telenovelas, films, and television series. She began her acting career in 1996 with the telenovela Azul and gained recognition with roles in Pueblo chico, infierno grande (1997) and Desencuentro (1997), the latter directed by Ernesto Alonso. Her performance in Pueblo chico, infierno grande earned her the Heraldo Award for Best Female Acting.. Reguera's international breakthrough came with the 2006 film Nacho Libre, where she starred alongside Jack Black. She has since appeared in various films, including The Book of Life (2014), Everything, Everything (2017), Army of the Dead (2021), and The Forever Purge (2021). On television, she has been featured in series such as Eastbound & Down, Capadocia, Narcos, Power, Goliath, and Ana, a comedy-drama series she created and starred in, which aired from 2020 to 2023. Beyond her acting career, Reguera is actively involved in philanthropy. In 2010, she founded VeracruzANA, a non-profit organization established in response to Hurricane Karl's devastation in Veracruz. The organization supports the underprivileged community in Veracruz and promotes cultural development through its House of Culture and Training. She also serves as the President of the ONE Children's Foundation in the United States. Reguera's contributions to the arts and her philanthropic efforts have earned her recognition as one of the most influential Latinas in the United States.
