Andrea Gherpelli
Andrea Gherpelli (born April 15, 1975, in Reggio Emilia, Italy) is a renowned Italian actor, engineer, educator, and sustainable farmer. Originally from a family of farmers, he pursued his passion for performance early—his father founded a parish theater company. After earning a degree in management engineering from the University of Bologna, he moved to Rome to attend the Beatrice Bracco Acting Academy and Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica on scholarship . To support himself, he taught mathematics and physics for several years while honing his craft in workshops and working with mentors like Vincent Schiavelli. Gherpelli debuted on stage in 2002 and then appeared on television in 2006's La freccia nera, going on to feature in acclaimed series such as Nebbie e delitti, Raccontami, Un passo dal cielo, Qualunque cosa succeda, Squadra antimafia, Don Matteo, and Cuori, where he plays Dr. Mosca. His filmography spans from Questo piccolo grande amore (2009) and Volevo nascondermi (2020) to recent works like Dario Argento’s Occhiali Neri (2022), Rapito (2023), and L'Abbaglio (2025). Apart from acting, Gherpelli embraces a dual identity as a modern "actor-farmer." He cultivates ancient grains on his family’s land in Prato di Correggio, runs an agrarian initiative called Agricoltori Custodi, and starred in the eco-docu-series Wild Teens – Contadini in erba, guiding teens through farm life . His advocacy for biodiversity and sustainability has been spotlighted in outlets like Rai’s Geo and Striscia la Notizia.
