Andrew Dice Clay

Andrew Dice Clay, born Andrew Clay Silverstein on September 29, 1957, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He rose to prominence in the late 1980s with a highly controversial and offensive persona known as "The Diceman." This brash character, known for misogynistic humor and explicit "adult nursery rhymes," made him a cultural phenomenon, leading to him becoming the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden for two consecutive nights in 1990. He was also famously banned for life from MTV, a ban that has since been lifted. While his stand-up career has been a rollercoaster of fame and controversy, Clay has also had a significant career in acting. He played the lead role in the 1990 film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane and has since transitioned into more dramatic and supporting roles. He received critical acclaim for his role in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine (2013) and for his part as Lorenzo in Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born (2018), which earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. His other notable acting credits include roles in the HBO series Vinyl, the television series Pam & Tommy, and the recent film The Pickup (2025).
