Andrey Ivchenko
Andrey Ivchenko is an actor and stunt performer born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, in 1971. He grew up in Zaporozhye, Ukraine, after his family moved there when he was a year old. His interest in acting began in the fourth grade when a teacher organized an annual school theatre production. He later moved to Canada, where he began landing acting and stunt roles in television series such as "Falling Skies," "Nikita," and "The Transporter" (the TV series).After achieving success in Canada, Ivchenko relocated to Los Angeles to further his career. He is widely recognized for his role as Grigori, the "Russian Terminator," in the third season of the Netflix hit series "Stranger Things." He also played the supporting role of "Red Erik" opposite Vin Diesel in the film "xXx: Return of Xander Cage." Other notable television appearances include recurring roles in "Counterpart" and a guest star appearance on "Lucifer." In video games, he is recognized as Perseus, the leading villain character in "Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War." He has also appeared in films such as "Freezer," "The Best Man," and "Darkness of Man," where he starred alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme.Ivchenko holds memberships in SAG-AFTRA (USA) and the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) (Canada). He is a fluent speaker of Ukrainian, Belarusian, English, Russian, and Hebrew. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, going to the gym, and traveling. In 2020, he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for his work on "Stranger Things." Recently, Ivchenko has shared that he has been battling chondrosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, which resulted in the removal of half of his pelvis and a full hip replacement. He has expressed immense gratitude for the support he received from his former "Stranger Things" costars and executive producer Shawn Levy during his health journey.
