Andy Richter

Paul Andrew "Andy" Richter is an American actor, comedian, writer, and talk show announcer, born on October 28, 1966, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is best known for his long-running, collaborative partnership as the announcer and comedic sidekick to host Conan O'Brien across all three of his late-night programs: Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993–2000), The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (2009–2010), and Conan (2010–2021). Richter got his start in comedy in the late 1980s by performing with various Chicago comedy groups, including The Annoyance Theatre and Improv Olympic, before being hired as a writer for O'Brien's new show in 1993, eventually being promoted to the on-air sidekick just weeks before the show premiered. Beyond late-night television, Richter has had a wide-ranging career in film and scripted TV. He starred in and executive produced his own critically acclaimed but short-lived Fox series, Andy Richter Controls the Universe (2002–2003), and the NBC series Andy Barker, P.I. (2007), which was co-written and produced by Conan O'Brien. On the big screen, he is a recognizable face from numerous comedy films, including Elf, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and Semi-Pro. Richter is also well-known for his extensive voice-over work, most famously lending his voice to the character Mort the small, annoying mouse lemur in the entire Madagascar film franchise and its related animated series. In recent years, he has continued his career as a working actor, appearing in films like 80 for Brady and the TV series Elsbeth, while also hosting his popular podcast, The Three Questions with Andy Richter.
