Andy Siara is an American screenwriter, producer, and showrunner, recognized for his distinctive blend of dark comedy, mystery, and fantasy elements in his projects. His path into filmmaking began after a career in an indie rock band with his brother, leading him to enroll at the AFI Conservatory. It was during his time at AFI that he developed the screenplay for what would become his breakout hit.Siara first gained widespread attention for writing the highly acclaimed 2020 feature film "Palm Springs," a romantic comedy that ingeniously incorporated a time-loop premise. The film, which he co-wrote with director Max Barbakow, earned critical praise and several award nominations, including a Writers Guild of America Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.Following the success of "Palm Springs," Siara went on to create and serve as showrunner for the Peacock mystery comedy series "The Resort" (2022), which also garnered a positive reception for its unique tone and narrative. He has also contributed as a writer to the TV series "Lodge 49" (2019) and the miniseries "Angelyne" (2022). His filmography also includes various short films, such as "The Duke: Based on the Memoir 'I'm the Duke' by J.P. Duke" (2016) and "Grill Dog" (2016).
