Anel Alexander
Anel Alexander is a South African actress and producer renowned for her impactful contributions to both television and film. Born on November 26, 1979, in Pretoria, she began her acting career in high school, winning Best Supporting Actress at the ATKV teen acting competition. She later studied at the University of Pretoria and Hoërskool Die Wilgers. Anel gained national recognition for her role as Liesl in the popular Afrikaans soap opera 7de Laan . In addition to her television work, Anel has made significant strides in the film industry. She co-founded Scramble Productions with her late husband, actor and producer James Alexander. Together, they produced and starred in several successful films, including Discreet (2008), Semi-Soet (2012), and Sink (2016). Semi-Soet was particularly notable, becoming one of the highest-grossing Afrikaans films of its time and earning Anel a nomination for Best Actress at the South African Film and Television Awards .
