Anna Borisovna Chipovskaya (born June 16, 1987, in Moscow) is a prominent Russian actress renowned for her work in theater, film, and television. She hails from a family immersed in the arts; her mother, Olga Chipovskaya, is an actress, and her father, Boris Frumkin, was a jazz musician. Initially, her parents envisioned her pursuing a career as a translator, enrolling her in a linguistic high school. However, Anna's passion for acting led her to study at the Moscow Art Theater School, graduating in 2009. That same year, she joined the Moscow Theater Studio under the direction of Oleg Tabakov, where she began her professional stage career. Chipovskaya's film debut occurred in 2004 with a role in the comedy series The Bachelors. She gained further recognition in 2012 for her portrayal of Nadia in the adventure film Spy, based on Boris Akunin's novel. Her performance as the strong-willed Polish princess Beata in the 2012 historical film The Ballad of Uhlans further cemented her status in Russian cinema. In 2020, Chipovskaya starred in the drama Has Anyone Seen My Girl?, portraying a young woman grappling with love and loss in 1990s Leningrad. She also featured in the 2020 thriller Masha, which won the "Best Debut" prize at the Kinotavr festival. In 2025, she appeared in the biographical drama The Poet, depicting the life of Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. Beyond acting, Chipovskaya is a singer and performed the Russian version of the American folk song "In the Pines" in 2015.
