Anna-Sharé Blake, professionally known as Sevana, is a Jamaican singer, actress, and model, born on November 21, 1991, in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica. While initially interested in becoming a doctor, her path shifted towards music when, at 16, she entered the local music competition "Digicel Rising Stars" as part of the girl group SLR, which placed third. After a brief hiatus from music, during which she worked various jobs, Sevana resumed her artistic career in 2014. She gained early recognition collaborating with reggae artist Protoje, featuring on his album "Ancient Future" and later signing to his In.Digg.Nation Collective label. She released her self-titled EP in 2016 and made her major label debut with the EP "Be Somebody" in 2020. Her music is often described as a blend of reggae, soul, R&B, and dancehall, characterized by her soulful vocals and conscious lyrics. In addition to her music, Sevana has explored acting, starring in the Television Jamaica web series "Losing Patience" (2016). In 2022, she announced her departure from In.Digg.Nation Collective to join Goodhzmusic and made her major motion picture debut in 2024, portraying the reggae artist Judy Mowatt in the highly anticipated biopic "Bob Marley: One Love." Sevana is also an advocate for dark-skinned women, using her platform to encourage self-love and acceptance.
