Anna Torv
Anna Torv (born 7 June 1979) is an Australian actress who has achieved significant international recognition primarily through her work in television. Born in Melbourne, she graduated from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2001. Her breakout international role came in 2008 as FBI Agent Olivia Dunham in the critically acclaimed Fox science fiction series Fringe (2008–2013), a performance that earned her a record four consecutive Saturn Awards for Best Actress on Television. Following Fringe, she continued her success on the small screen as psychologist Dr. Wendy Carr in the Netflix crime drama Mindhunter (2017–2019) and has since garnered an Emmy nomination for her role as Tess in the HBO post-apocalyptic series The Last of Us (2023). Torv is also a major figure in Australian television, having won multiple AACTA and Logie Awards for her leading role as news anchor Helen Norville in the drama series The Newsreader (2021–present). Earlier in her career, she also lent her voice and motion capture to the protagonist Nariko in the video game Heavenly Sword (2007). Torv was briefly married to her Fringe co-star Mark Valley.
