Anne Katharine Krigsvoll is a Norwegian actress, born on February 4, 1957, in Trondheim, Norway. Her long and distinguished career in acting began with her stage debut at The National Theatre in 1982, where she has been employed for many years, performing in notable roles such as "Martha" in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and "Dorine" in Molière's Tartuffe. Krigsvoll is also well-known for her work in film and television, with a film debut in Lars i porten (1984) and a breakout main role in the 1987 TV miniseries Av måneskinn gror det ingenting (Nothing Grows from Moonlight). This role earned her the Amanda Award for Best Leading Actress in 1988. Her significant awards also include the Hedda Award for particularly excellent performance in 1999 for her role in Skammen (Shame) and another Hedda Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2019. Krigsvoll also gained recognition for playing the female sheriff Laila Hovland in the TV series Lilyhammer and for her role in the film Kvinner i for store herreskjorter (Women in Oversized Men's Shirts) (2015), which won her both an Amanda Award and a Kanonprisen for best supporting actress.
