Anthony J. Sharpe is a multifaceted Australian talent, recognized as an actor, producer, and singer. Born on September 24, 1974, in Melbourne, Australia, Sharpe's early life was spent on his family's small farm in Willowmavin, Victoria. He discovered his musical inclination at 15, picking up a guitar and singing with a high school band. This passion led him to pursue music full-time after completing an apprenticeship as a fitter and machinist at Holden's Engine Company. His band, Heavy Human Traffic, released three albums between 1998 and 2001 before disbanding in 2003.Sharpe then transitioned into acting, beginning his professional career with a two-year stint at Dracula's Theatre Restaurant in Melbourne. He gained significant recognition for his role as Cecil "Cec" Yates in the popular ABC1 series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (2011-2015), a character he reprised in the film Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020). His acting resume is extensive, encompassing various Australian television shows like Wentworth, City Homicide, Neighbours, Blue Heelers, Black Snow, Human Error, Fires, Bay of Fires, and Deadloch. On the big screen, he has appeared in international productions such as Blacklight (alongside Liam Neeson), Black Water: Abyss, Hunter's Moon, Robert the Bruce, and the upcoming 2025 Western The Unholy Trinity.
