Antje Traue is a German actress born on January 18, 1981, in Mittweida, East Germany. She began her acting career at the age of sixteen in stage productions before transitioning to film and television. Traue is fluent in both German and English.Internationally, she is best known for her role as the formidable villain Faora-Ul in the DC Extended Universe films Man of Steel (2013) and a reprisal of the role in The Flash (2023). In preparation for her role as Faora, she underwent an intense four-month training and dieting program.Her other notable film credits include the sci-fi thriller Pandorum (2009), her first English-language role, and the action-fantasy film Seventh Son (2014). She also starred in the 2017 war drama Bye Bye Germany. On television, she is widely recognized for her role as Agnes Nielsen in the German Netflix series Dark (2017-2020) and a recent role in the Sky TV series Helgoland 513 (2024). She is also set to appear in the 2025 Netflix film Fall for Me.
