Antonio Buíl

Antonio Buíl is an actor born in Spain in 1964. He began his career by studying drama in Saragossa and was a founding member of the theatre company Tabanque, under the direction of Antonio Malondo. In 1987, he was involved in educational work in the Basque country with Teatro Poraiso, and then moved to Switzerland in 1989 for further professional training at Dimitri's Theatre School. While in Switzerland, he co-founded the Centre international du travail de l'acteur (CITA) with Gabriel Alvarez, and later the theatre company Teatro due Punti with Paola Pagani, which successfully staged plays in Switzerland, France, and Italy. His extensive work spans theatre and film, leading him to work internationally and act in French, Spanish, and Italian. Buíl is an award-winning actor, having won the Swiss Film Prize Quartz for "Best Actor" in 2010 for his role in $Coeur\ animal$ (Animal Heart) and again in 2013 in the supporting actor category for $Operación\ Libertad$. His filmography includes a number of Spanish and European productions such as the 2024 film $El\ correo$ (The Courier), $Infiesto$ (2023), $Todos\ los\ nombres\ de\ Dios$ (2023), and $La\ petite\ chambre$ (The Little Room) (2010).
