Antonio Dechent (born February 16, 1960, in Seville, Spain) is a prolific Spanish actor renowned for his compelling supporting roles across film, television, and theater. After an early first performance at age 13, he initially pursued psychology before dedicating himself fully to acting, training at the Instituto de Teatro de Sevilla. His cinematic debut came in 1987’s Las dos orillas, and since then, he’s appeared in over eighty productions, including notable films like Solas, Intacto, Smoking Room, Carmen, Alatriste, A puerta fría, Hombre muerto no sabe vivir, and most recently Vírgenes . Dechent’s career is also marked by extensive accolades and stage accomplishments: he’s won two Biznagas de Plata at the Málaga Film Festival, three ASECAN awards, a Sant Jordi award, and received a Goya nomination. On stage, he has tackled classic texts by playwrights such as Valle-Inclán, Camus, Shakespeare, Cocteau, and Simon, including prominent roles in productions like La extraña pareja.
