Arjun Gupta is an American actor, director, and writer, known for his roles in both television and film. He was born on November 28, 1986, in Tampa, Florida. He is best known for his television roles as Sam in the NBC comedy-drama series Nurse Jackie and as William "Penny" Adiyodi in the Syfy fantasy series The Magicians. Gupta's career began in theater before he transitioned to screen acting, making his film debut in the romantic comedy Bridal Wars (2009).In addition to acting, Gupta is a co-founder of the production company Unlikely Productions, which focuses on creating socially conscious content. He also has a podcast called "American Desis," which explores the experiences of South Asians in America. He is married to actress and writer Trisha Lafache.
