Aston Francis Barrett Jr., born on October 20, 1990, in Kingston, Jamaica, is a highly talented multi-instrumentalist, producer, and actor. He is the son of the legendary Aston "Family Man" Barrett, the iconic bassist and musical director for Bob Marley & The Wailers, and the nephew of the late drummer Carlton "Carly" Barrett. This deep musical lineage has profoundly shaped his career.Growing up steeped in the rich traditions of reggae, Aston Jr. began playing the bass at a very young age, mentored by his father. He later expanded his musical repertoire to include drums, guitar, and organ. His professional journey started while he was still in high school, playing bass for Julian Marley and The Uprising Band, which led to international touring. He also collaborated with Lauryn Hill for over two years as her bassist.In 2009, he began touring with The Wailers alongside his father, eventually taking over as the band's leader and drummer in 2016 when his father retired.
