Bates Wilder is an American actor, acting coach, and award-winning artist of the stage, born as Christopher Bates Wilder on October 14, 1961, in Weymouth, Massachusetts. With a professional career spanning over 45 years, he has built an extensive filmography in film, television, and regional theater. He is an IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) Award winner for Best Actor in Frozen (2007) and Best Supporting Actor in A Streetcar Named Desire (2009), and was also awarded "Best Actor" at The Madrid Film Festival for the short film The Suitor (2016). On screen, Wilder is recognized for his recurring role as the ne'er-do-well brother-in-law on the Showtime series Brotherhood.
