Bing Pimentel

Lourdes “Bing” de la Llana Pimentel is a Filipina actress and figure connected to a prominent political family. As an actress, she has an extensive filmography, with notable appearances in movies such as the classic Batch '81 (1982), and more recent films like Mariquina (2014), Heneral Luna (2015), Deadma Walking (2017), and 12 Weeks (2022). She is the widow of the late former Senate President Aquilino "Nene" Pimentel Jr., a politician and human rights lawyer, and the mother of incumbent Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III. She also has a personal connection to the film industry through her former relationship with actor Mark Gil. Outside of acting, Pimentel is a composer whose musical works have chronicled her family's experiences, including those during her husband's periods of incarceration under martial law. Her support for her late husband's political struggles included writing songs, some of which were featured in the book “Buhay, Isang Awit—Memoirs and Melodies.” She also completed a degree in Visual Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman after a thirty-year break, having dropped out earlier to get married.
