Bobby Krlic

Bobby Krlic is a British composer, producer, and musician who is also known by his stage name, The Haxan Cloak. Born in Wakefield, England, in 1985, Krlic's music is noted for its dark, atmospheric, and dense soundscapes, often incorporating electronic and experimental elements with heavy bass and drone influences. He released two full-length albums as The Haxan Cloak, a moniker inspired by his fascination with the supernatural: his self-titled debut in 2011 and Excavation in 2013, which explored the journey of the soul after death. Krlic's career as a film and television composer, for which he uses his own name, has gained widespread recognition with scores for Ari Aster's films Midsommar (2019), which won him an Ivor Novello Award for Best Original Score, and Beau Is Afraid, as well as the television series Snowpiercer and Netflix's Beef. He also composed the music for the video game Returnal. Additionally, Krlic has production credits on a diverse range of artists' work, including Björk, Khalid, Goldfrapp, and serpentwithfeet, and he has collaborated with Academy Award-winning composer Atticus Ross on film scores such as Blackhat and Triple 9. In 2023, he released new solo music and announced the launch of his own label, Archaic Devices.
