Brandon Perea is an American actor and professional jamskater. Born on May 25, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois, he is of Filipino and Puerto Rican descent. Before his acting career, Perea was a professional jamskater, a unique form of breakdancing on roller skates. He became the youngest professional in the sport at age 14, traveling the country to perform. At 16, he made the decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting.Perea's acting career began with his role as Alfonso "French" Sosa in the Netflix mystery drama series The OA. He is widely recognized for his breakthrough role as Angel Torres in Jordan Peele's 2022 film Nope. Peele reportedly rewrote the character to better suit Perea's compelling audition, and his performance was praised by critics as a "scene stealer." Perea also starred in the 2024 film Twisters, where he played a tornado wrangler, and has a role in the upcoming romantic fantasy film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. Beyond acting, Perea is a talented dancer and is trained in boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA.
