Brittany Allen
Born on February 5, 1986, in Toronto, Ontario, Brittany Allen is an Emmy-winning Canadian actress, producer, and composer known for her striking range in both mainstream television and independent horror. She honed her craft at the Etobicoke School of the Arts and the Sheridan Institute's Music Theatre Performance Program before gaining widespread fame as Marissa Chandler on the long-running soap opera All My Children, a role that earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in 2011. Since then, she has become a celebrated figure in the genre film community, frequently collaborating with director Colin Minihan on acclaimed projects like the sci-fi horror Extraterrestrial (2014) and the unconventional zombie thriller It Stains the Sands Red (2016), which she also executive produced. In the Saw franchise, Allen starred as Carly in Jigsaw (2017), portraying a young woman whose past theft resulted in a fatal asthma attack, leading to her brutal demise in the "needle trap" sequence. Beyond horror, she has delivered standout performances in high-profile television series, most notably as the superhero Popclaw in the Amazon hit The Boys, as well as recurring roles in Falling Water, Defiance, and Taken. In recent years, she has successfully expanded into music composition, scoring films like the survival thriller What Keeps You Alive (2018)—in which she also starred—and the supernatural horror Z (2019). Most recently, she was cast in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin (2024–2025), continuing her legacy as one of Canada's most versatile multi-disciplinary artists.
