Bryan Neathway Brown AM is an acclaimed Australian actor and producer, born on June 23, 1947, in Sydney. He began his professional life as an actuarial student at an insurance company before discovering his passion for acting through amateur theatre. After a period in London where he secured minor roles at the prestigious Old Vic, he returned to Australia to build his career.Brown's career took off in the late 1970s with roles in Australian films like Newsfront and The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith. He gained international recognition for his performance in the 1980 film Breaker Morant, and his role as Luke O'Neil in the 1983 miniseries The Thorn Birds earned him Golden Globe and Emmy nominations and led to his marriage to co-star Rachel Ward.Throughout his career, he has appeared in over eighty film and television projects in Australia and abroad. Some of his most well-known films include F/X, Cocktail with Tom Cruise, and Gorillas in the Mist with Sigourney Weaver.
