His father was a professor of linguistics at UCLA, and the family moved back to the UK when Burn was seven. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting from the Manchester Metropolitan University's School of Theatre.Gorman's career began in 1998, primarily in British television, including early roles in "Coronation Street" and "Bleak House," where he played William Guppy. He gained significant recognition as Owen Harper in the popular BBC science fiction series "Torchwood" (2006-2008).Known for his intense and often villainous or quirky character portrayals, Gorman has built a diverse film and television resume across various genres.
