Cameron Morrell Douglas, born on December 13, 1978, is an American actor, author, and speaker. He is the son of actor Michael Douglas and his first wife, Diandra Luker, and the grandson of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas. Despite being born into a life of privilege, Douglas has been very public about his long and difficult struggle with drug addiction. His acting career began in the late 1990s, and he appeared in several films, including "Mr. Nice Guy" (1997) and "It Runs in the Family" (2003), which also starred his father and grandfather. However, his life took a difficult turn as his addiction to drugs, particularly heroin and cocaine, spiraled out of control. This led to multiple arrests, and in 2009, he was sentenced to five years in prison for drug-related crimes. His sentence was later extended for possession of drugs while incarcerated. He was released in 2016 after serving nearly seven years. Since his release, Douglas has focused on his recovery and rebuilding his life. He chronicled his experiences in his 2019 memoir, "Long Way Home," which became an Amazon bestseller. The book details his journey from addiction to recovery and highlights the importance of family support. Douglas is now a public speaker, sharing his story to help others struggling with substance abuse. He has also returned to acting, with roles in independent films like "The Runner" (2021) and "Wire Room" (2022). He is also set to appear with his father in the upcoming film, "Blood Knot." Douglas has two children with his longtime partner, Viviane Thibes.
