Camille Rutherford
Camille Rutherford is a prominent British-French bilingual film actress, born in Paris in 1990 to a French mother and a British father. She grew up in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and pursued her acting education at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Clermont-Ferrand, followed by the prestigious Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (part of the Conservatoire de Paris), from which she graduated in 2011.Rutherford's career began to flourish with her first lead role in Nicolas Klotz's 2011 film Low Life. She gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Mary, Queen of Scots in the 2013 film Mary Queen of Scots and also appeared in the critically acclaimed Blue Is the Warmest Colour (2013). Her diverse filmography includes roles in Jacqueline Argentine (2016), Iamhere (2019), and she received a César Award nomination for Best Female Revelation in 2021 for her performance in Felicità. More recently, she has been seen in films such as Bertrand Mandico's After Blue (2021), Michel Gondry's The Book of Solutions (2023), and notably as journalist Zoe Solidor in Justine Triet's Palme d'Or-winning film Anatomy of a Fall (2023). Her upcoming projects include Jane Austen Wrecked My Life (2024), The Splendour of Life (2024), and Paris Has Fallen (2024). Beyond acting, Camille Rutherford has also ventured into writing and directing.
