Carlson Young is an American actress, director, and screenwriter from Fort Worth, Texas. She is known for her work both in front of and behind the camera.As an actress, she gained recognition for her role as Brooke Maddox in the MTV television series Scream (2015-2016). She also had a recurring role in the Disney Channel series As the Bell Rings and has made guest appearances on shows like Pretty Little Liars, True Blood, and Emily in Paris.Young made her directorial debut with the psychological horror film The Blazing World (2021), which she also wrote and starred in. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her second feature film, the romantic comedy Upgraded (2024), starring Camila Mendes, demonstrated her versatility as a director across different genres.Most recently, she directed the 2025 thriller film Trust. Young is married to musician Isom Innis, a member of the band Foster the People, who has also composed music for her films.
