Cassandra Freeman is an American actress, director, and screenwriter. She is widely recognized for her starring role as Aunt Viv in the Peacock television series Bel-Air, a dramatic reimagining of the classic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She has also had a recurring role as Pat in the crime drama Luke Cage (2016).Freeman's film work includes a lead role in the 2025 drama Love, Brooklyn and appearances in films such as Inside Man (2006) and The Last O.G. (2018). In addition to acting, she is also a director and screenwriter, with credits for several short films, including The Other Side of the Sun (2018), which she also wrote. Freeman is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts.
