Catherine Leterrier, born Catherine Fabius on October 26, 1942, in Aix-les-Bains, Savoie, France, is a distinguished French costume designer and occasional production designer whose career in film spans from the early 1970s to the present. She began her work in cinema in 1973 on a film directed by her husband, French filmmaker François Leterrier. Her collaborations include prominent European and international directors such as Jean-Paul Rappeneau, Luc Besson, Robert Altman, Michael Haneke, and Anne Fontaine. Notably, she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design for the 2009 film Coco Before Chanel (Coco avant Chanel), and has won the prestigious César Award for Best Costume Design multiple times for her work on films like Jeanne d'Arc (1999) and Coco Before Chanel (2009). She also won a César for Best Production Design for Bon voyage (2003). Her extensive filmography includes Les Visiteurs (1993), Prêt-à-Porter (1994), Amour (2012), and Happy End (2017). Leterrier is the mother of film director Louis Leterrier and the sister of French politician Laurent Fabius.
