Imrie is particularly well-known for her collaborations with comedian Victoria Wood, which include the popular sketch show Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV and the sitcom Dinnerladies.Her extensive filmography includes a number of beloved British comedies and romantic dramas, such as Bridget Jones's Diary, Calendar Girls, and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its sequel. She has also appeared in major blockbusters like Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Nanny McPhee. In more recent years, she has received acclaim for her role in the American comedy series Better Things and the Netflix drama The Diplomat.In addition to her acting career, Imrie is a Sunday Times bestselling author, having written an autobiography and a series of novels.
