Celinde Schoenmaker
Celinde Schoenmaker is a Dutch actress and singer, born on January 15, 1989, in Dordrecht, Netherlands, who has become one of the most successful musical performers in the West End. After studying Liberal Arts and then graduating summa cum laude from the Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts, she made her West End debut in 2013 as Fantine in Les Misérables, a role she played for two years. She went on to play the female lead, Christine Daaé, in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre, including the show's 30th-anniversary performance. Her notable theatre career also includes playing Jenny Lind in Barnum and Sarah Brown in the London Bridge Theatre revival of Guys and Dolls, as well as concert appearances in Love Never Dies (as Christine), Jesus Christ Superstar, and Doctor Zhivago. Schoenmaker's transition to screen roles includes playing Renate Blauel in the 2019 Elton John biopic Rocketman. Her television credits feature roles such as Vanessa in the Dutch series Red Light and Saskia in the English series Our House. In her personal life, she is engaged to British actor Richard Fleeshman and the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in November 2024.
